Goa is one of the few states where the government distributes fortified rice through the Public Distribution System. NFSA and AAY card holders receive fortified rice free of cost, while APL card holders pay Rs. 12.50 per kg for rice and Rs. 8 per kg for wheat. Unlike most states where online application goes through the state portal, Goa routes all new ration card applications through the central nfsa.gov.in portal. Goa has 12 talukas - 5 in North Goa and 7 in South Goa - each with a dedicated Civil Supplies Taluka office. All ration card services are managed by the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Government of Goa from its head office at Junta House, Panaji.

- At Fair Price Shop: Visit your designated FPS with Aadhaar cards of all family members. Complete biometric fingerprint authentication on the ePoS device.
- Via Mera eKYC App: Download the Mera eKYC app and complete e-KYC using face authentication from home. This option is especially useful for elderly or differently-abled family members who cannot visit the FPS easily.

- Visit your designated Fair Price Shop with Aadhaar of all family members for biometric seeding
- Complete e-KYC via the Mera eKYC app using face authentication if you cannot visit the FPS
- Check eKYC status at epos.goa.gov.in/ONRC_eKYC.jsp

Goa residents working or studying in other states can also collect their entitled ration there. Only Aadhaar authentication is needed - no paperwork required at the FPS.
