Haryana is one of the few states in India that has three separate BPL Ration Card categories - CBPL (Central BPL), SBPL (State BPL), and OPH (Other Priority Household) - in addition to AAY and APL. All ration card services are managed by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Haryana through five official portals including Saral Haryana for online applications and the HEPDS portal for ration card list and download.

Types of Ration Card in the State
Haryana issues ration cards under NFSA and state PDS schemes. The NFSA categories confirmed in the official Haryana food department forms page at haryanafood.gov.in/forms-for-public-use/ are:

Who Can Apply
- Must be a permanent resident of Haryana with valid address proof
- Must be at least 18 years old to apply as head of family
- The family must not already hold a valid ration card anywhere in India
- Holders of expired or temporary ration cards can apply for a new card
- Newly married couples without a ration card can apply
- Families owning four-wheelers, paying income tax, or having members in high-income government positions may be excluded from subsidised categories
Documents You Need to Apply
- Aadhaar cards of all family members (mandatory)
- Proof of residence in Haryana - electricity bill, water bill, or rent agreement
- Income certificate (for BPL/CBPL/SBPL and AAY categories)
- Passport-size photograph of the head of household
- Bank passbook (first page) of the head of household
- Mobile number linked to Aadhaar
- For newly married spouse: marriage certificate
- For newborn: birth certificate

How to Apply Online
- Go to saralharyana.gov.in.
- Register or log in with your credentials. New users can register using their mobile number.
- Search for Ration Card in the services list or navigate to Food and Civil Supplies Department services.
- Select Application for New Ration Card.
- Fill in the application form with complete family details, Aadhaar numbers, and address.
- Upload scanned copies of all required documents.
- Submit and note your Application or Service Request Number for status tracking.
How to Apply Offline
- Download the application form from haryanafood.gov.in/forms-for-public-use/ - select the APL form or NFSA form (AAY/CBPL/SBPL/OPH) as applicable.
- Fill the form in block letters and attach self-attested copies of all documents.
- Submit at your nearest District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC) office or Block Food and Supply Officer (BFSO) office.
- Collect the acknowledgement receipt with your application number.
- After field verification, your ration card is issued and linked to your nearest Fair Price Shop.

How to Check Application Status
- Go to saralharyana.gov.in and log in.
- Go to Track Application/Appeal on the dashboard.
- Enter your Service Request Number received at the time of submission.
- Your current application status is displayed.
How to Check the Ration Card List
- Go to epds.haryanafood.gov.in.
- Click on Report from the navigation menu.
- Select your District, then Block, and then Village or Town.
- The ration card list for your area is displayed.
You can also check the EPDS NIC portal at hr.epds.nic.in/HRY/epds for beneficiary and ration card details.
How to Download Your Ration Card
Via HEPDS Portal
- Go to epds.haryanafood.gov.in.
- Click Search RC or the ration card download option.
- Enter your Ration Card Number or Family ID.
- Your ration card details are displayed. Click Download or print the page as PDF.
Via DigiLocker
- Go to digilocker.gov.in or open the DigiLocker app.
- Log in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Search for Ration Card and select issuer as Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Haryana.
- Enter your ration card number and district.
- Click Get Document. Your e-ration card is fetched and saved in DigiLocker.
How to Add or Remove a Family Member
- Go to saralharyana.gov.in and log in.
- Search for the Addition of Member in Ration Card or Deletion of Member from Ration Card service.
- Enter your existing ration card number and fetch current details.
- For adding a member: enter their Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, and relationship. Upload supporting documents.
- For removing a member: select the member and choose the reason (deceased, migrated). Upload supporting documents (death certificate, etc.).
- Submit and note the acknowledgement number.
These services can also be availed offline at your nearest DFSC or BFSO office.
How to Link Aadhaar
Aadhaar seeding is mandatory for all members. The AePDS system at epos.haryanafood.gov.in manages biometric distribution across all Haryana FPS.
- Visit your designated Fair Price Shop with Aadhaar cards of all family members
- Ask the FPS dealer to complete Aadhaar seeding on the ePoS device
- Each member provides their fingerprint biometric for authentication
- Confirmation SMS is sent to your registered mobile number

Using Your Card in Another State (ONORC)
Haryana NFSA ration card holders can collect their food grain entitlement from any Fair Price Shop anywhere in India under the One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) Scheme. Only your Aadhaar number is needed at the FPS in the other state.
