Frequently Asked Questions

For Protean, you can alternatively check status using your Name and Date of Birth on the Protean portal. For Instant e-PAN, use your Aadhaar number and OTP on incometax.gov.in. If all else fails, call the Protean helpline at +91-20-27218080 with your PAN application details.

If status shows "documents not received" it means your physical documents sent by post have not reached the processing centre. Check the India Post tracking for your sent package. If documents were received but status is unchanged beyond 15 working days, call the Protean helpline at +91-20-27218080 or write to tininfo@protean-tinpan.com.

You need to update your address and request redelivery. On the Protean portal, log in with your Acknowledgement Number and submit a redelivery request with the corrected address. Similarly on UTIITSL. Ensure the address matches your Aadhaar records to avoid future delivery failures.

For Protean, some options allow checking by Name and Date of Birth. For Instant e-PAN, use your Aadhaar number on incometax.gov.in. For UTIITSL, status can be checked using PAN number and Date of Birth if PAN has been allotted. If PAN is not yet allotted, the Acknowledgement Number is the only reliable option.

This applies only to Instant e-PAN applications. It usually means there is a mismatch or issue with your Aadhaar data (name, DOB, gender). Ensure your Aadhaar is updated with correct details at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in, then reapply for Instant e-PAN. Alternatively, apply through Protean or UTIITSL using Form 49A with physical documents.
