Independent guide · Not UIDAI · We never ask for your Aadhaar number, OTP or fingerprints.
Privacy policy
This policy explains what information the India Customer Care Aadhaar guide collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies only to the Aadhaar guide at g.indiacustomercare.com/adhaar/ and its versions in other languages (such as /hi/adhaar/).
Who we are
India Customer Care runs this Aadhaar guide as an independent information website. We are not UIDAI, not a government body and not an Aadhaar enrolment centre.
What we never ask for
We never ask for your Aadhaar number, VID, OTP, fingerprints, iris scan, bank details or passwords. Please do not type them into any form on this site. If you type a 12-digit or 16-digit number into our Contact or Report form, our system hides all but its last 4 digits before it stores or emails your message.
Tools on our pages
The fee calculator, the child update due-date calculator, the document checker, the "What do I need?" wizard, the PDF password helper and the SMS generator work inside your browser. What you enter in them is not sent to us.
Contact us form
When you send a message with the Contact us form, we receive your message and, only if you choose to give them, your name, email address, mobile number and subject. We also record the time, the page you came from, the page language and your IP address. We use the IP address only to stop spam and abuse.
Messages are saved in log files on our server and may be emailed to our team. We use them only to reply to you and to improve this guide. We do not sell them or use them for marketing.
Report an issue and Subscribe
The Report button sends us the subject and comments you write and the address of the page. The Subscribe button saves your email address and the updates you chose. We first send a confirmation email, and every update email has an unsubscribe link.
Votes on helpline numbers
If you answer "Did this number work for you?", your vote is sent to our phone-ratings server together with a code calculated from your browser settings. The code only helps limit repeat votes. Your browser also remembers your vote.
Cookies and storage in your browser
Our own pages do not set tracking cookies. They save a few small settings in your browser's local storage, such as whether you are in India or abroad (to highlight NRI information) and your helpline votes. To guess your region, the page looks at your browser's time zone and may ask our network provider for your country code. We do not store that result on our server.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads from Google AdSense on these pages. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website or to other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info/choices.
- Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
In some regions Google may ask for your consent before it uses advertising cookies.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server keeps standard technical logs: IP address, time, page requested and browser type. We use them for security and to keep the site working. We may also keep a simple visit log (time, device type, IP address and page address) to see which guides people use.
How long we keep information
We keep messages and logs only as long as we need them to reply to you, prevent abuse and run the site. We delete old records from time to time.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only when the law requires us to. Our hosting and email providers process it for us.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to UIDAI and other websites. Their own privacy policies apply on those sites.
Children
These guides are written for adults, including parents. Children should not send us personal information.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, through our Contact us page.

We may update this policy. The date below shows the latest version.
