A Domicile Certificate issued by a Government certifies that a person is a permanent resident of Uttarakhand. It is issued by the Revenue Department of the Government of Uttarakhand and is required mainly for the following things :-
- Government jobs under state quota
- Admissions to state educational institutions
- Scholarships and welfare schemes
- Buying agricultural land
- Proof of nativity/residence
โ Eligibility Criteria
To apply for a Domicile Certificate in Uttarakhand, the applicant must meet at least one of the following conditions :-
- A person should be born in Uttarakhand.
- A person should be a Resident of Uttarakhand for at least 15 years.
- Parents hold permanent residence or a government job in Uttarakhand
- A Person is married to a permanent resident of Uttarakhand

๐ป How to Apply for Domicile Certificate in Uttarakhand
Applicant can apply for Domicile Certificate of Uttarakhand through e-Services Apuni Sarkar Portal and by visiting the nearest CSC Centre with all the documents.
๐ Option 1: Online Application (Recommended)
Portal: https://eservices.uk.gov.in
- Visit the portal https://eservices.uk.gov.in
- This portal is called as e-Services Apuni Sarkar.
- Click on Sign Up.
- You have to fill in the following details in the User Registration Form :-
- Click on submit button after filling all the details correctly.
- The portal will send a PIN on the registered mobile number of the Applicant.
- Log in with User ID (Email or Mobile Number) and enter the received PIN in the Password field.
- Click on the Services Tab and select the Revenue Department.
- Select the Domicile Certificate from the Revenue Department.
- Enter the mobile number and verify it through OTP authentication.
- Upload Applicant Photo and Mandatory Documents as shown below :-
- If you have any optional and supporting document as shown below then upload it and click on submit button.
- Now, the detailed Online Application Form of Uttarakhand Domicile Certificate will appear in which the following information will have to be filled by the you :-

- Check the filled details once and submit the Online Application Form.
- Initially, the Domicile Certificate Online Application is submitted to the SDM Office which will be further forwarded to the Patwari for verification.
- Patwari of that particular area in which applicant is currently residing will verify the documents and submit its report.
- Thereafter, Tahsildar will gave its approval and further forward it to SDM Office.
- SDM Office will generate the Domicile Certificate in the name of the Applicant after giving final approval.
- The minimum processing time of the certificate is 15 days and the charges are around Rs. 40.
- It is hereby reiterated that all the documents uploaded on the portal should be in PDF format and the size of the file should be below 2 MB.
โ After approval, the certificate can be downloaded from the portal.
๐ข Option 2: Through the CSC Centre
- Applicant can also apply to get their Domicile Certificate of Uttarakhand by visiting the nearest CSC Centre.
- Tell the agent present there that you have to apply for the Domicile Certificate of the Uttarakhand Government.
- Give all the mandatory documents to the agent of the CSC Centre.
- He will fill out the online application form on behalf of the applicant, scan all the documents and upload all the documents on the portal.
- Acknowledgement Slip will be provided to the applicant after successful submission of the Domicile Certificate Application Form.
- There is no cap on charges charged by CSC Centre, so always ask before applying.
- Generally, the CSC Centre charged Rs. 100/- to Rs. 500/- for a Domicile Certificate.
- It is advisable to keep track on the application and if possible, then meet the Patwari once to clear all the objections if any.
- Always upload the scanned copy of original documents. Do not upload the scanned copy of photostate/ xerox documents.
- Uttarakhand Domicile Certificate can be downloaded from Apuni Sarkar Portal by entering your Mobile Number.

๐ Application Status Check
- It is advisable to check your Domicile Certificate Application Status from time to time to avoid any rejection.
- Uttarakhand Domicile Certificate Application Status can be checked by logging in or directly with the help of the Application Number.
- Open the Apuni Sarkar Portal and Click on Know Application Status.
- Enter your Application Number and Click on Search. Portal will show the Domicile Certificate Application Status of Uttarakhand Government.
๐ฅDomicile Certificate Download Process
- Uttarakhand Government is now issuing Digitally Signed Domicile Certificates.
- There is no need to collect it from government office neither government sent the domicile certificate at applicant's home.
- Applicant can easily download their Uttarakhand Government's Domicile Certificate through their registered mobile number.
- Visit the e-Services Apuni Sarkar Portal and select Download Certificates.
- Select Revenue Department and choose Domicile Certificate and enter your registered mobile number.
- List of the all the certificates will appear, select Domicile Certificate and Download it.
โ๏ธDomicile Certificate Correction Process
- Applicant can also make corrections in their Domicile Certificate, yes you heard it right.
- Uttarakhand Government has now given the facility online through which any applicant can correct the mistake in their Domicile Certificate.
- Just Login on the Apuni Sarkar Portal with your username and password and select Certificate Correction from the menu.
- Choose Revenue Department from department list and Domicile Certificate from service list and Enter your Application Number.
- A Domicile Certificate issued by the Uttarakhand Government will appear, select it and open.
- Enter the details which you want to correct and submit the form.
- After some time, the domicile certificate of the applicant will be corrected.
