Telangana Residence Certificate Application Process

A Residence Certificate, often called a domicile certificate, is an important document issued by the Telangana Government that certifies a person's permanent residence in the state. This residence certificate is required for availing government schemes, scholarships, admission under state quotas, and for state government jobs.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Telangana Government will issue a Residence Certificate to only those applicants who completed any one of the following eligibility criteria :-

Applicant is a Permanent Resident of Telangana. (Usually 7 years or more)
Applicant's Parent is a Permanent Resident of Telangana.
Women Applicant married to a Permanent Resident of Telangana.

📄 Documents Required

Applicant should have the following documents in hand before applying for the Residence Certificate of the Telangana Government :-

Application Form.
Passport Size Photo.
House Tax/ Telephone Bill/ Electricity Bill.
Ration Card/ EPIC Card/ Aadhaar Card.
Mobile Number.
Email ID.

🖥️ Residence Certificate of Telangana Application Process

People of Telangana can submit their application to get a Residence Certificate online through the MeeSeva Portal and Offline through MeeSeva Centres. Complete Application Process through both ways is mentioned below.

🔷 Online through MeeSeva Portal

Telangana Government gave an online facility to its residents to apply for a Residence Certificate.
MeeSeva Portal is a dedicated portal through which residents of Telangana can avail themselves of government services.
Applicants will have to apply for the Telangana Government's Residence Certificate through this portal.
Registration is required first, so open the MeeSeva Portal and click on New User.
A detailed registration form will appear in which the applicant will have to fill all the basic details as shown below in the image.
Now, the Applicant will have to login again on the portal with the help of the Login ID (Mobile Number) and chosen Password.
A dashboard will appear after login, from which the applicant will have to enter "Residence" in the search bar and click on Residence Certificate.
A detailed Online Application Form for the Residence Certificate of the Telangana Government will appear on the screen.

Upload all the documents mentioned below :-
Sometimes Meeseva Portal asks to upload the Application Form. The applicant will have to then fill out the Telangana Residence Certificate Application Form Offline and then upload it on the portal.
Check all the filled information and click on the Payment button.
Applicant will have to pay a nominal fee of Rs. 45/- for the application of the Residence Certificate.
An application number will be generated by the portal after successful payment and submission of the Telangana Residence Certificate Application Form.
Applicant can call on 040-48560012 in case any help or assistance is required regarding the Residence Certificate/ Domicile Certificate of the Telangana Government.

🔷 Online through MeeSeva Mobile App

Application for Residence Certificate in Telangana can also be submitted through the Official Mobile App of MeeSeva.
Download the MeeSeva App from the Play Store and install it in your phone.
Open the MeeSeva Mobile Application after installing it.
Applicant will have to register themselves first, click on "Don't have an account? Sign Up.
Enter your Mobile Number and Email and click on Register.
MeeSeva Mobile App will send an MPIN to the given mobile number of the Applicant.
Sign in to your account with the help of registered mobile number and MPIN.
A dashboard will appear in which multiple services of the Telangana Government are appearing.
In the search area, type Residence and select Residence Certificate.
Enter Aadhaar Card Details, Applicant Name, Father/ Husband Name, Mobile Number, Email and click on continue.
Fill other asked details in the application form and upload all the required documents.
Check all the filled information and submit the Residence Certificate Application Form.
The submitted Application Form will be verified by the department.
Applicant can collect their Residence Certificate of the Telangana Government from any nearest MeeSeva Center after the final approval from the Department.

🔷 Offline through MeeSeva Centres

Beneficiary Applicant can also apply for their Residence Certificate of the Telangana Government by visiting their nearest MeeSeva Centres.
MeeSeva Centres are common service centres where individuals can apply and avail the benefits of government services.

Visit your nearest MeeSeva Centre with all the required documents.
The operator present in the MeeSeva Centre will fill the application for the Telangana Residence Certificate on behalf of the applicant.
Scanned images of the documents will be uploaded by the operator on the portal.
MeeSeva Centre Operator will charge a nominal amount for this service.
An acknowledgement receipt will have to be provided to the applicant, which has the application number that can be used to track the status of the application.
Revenue Officials will verify the submitted application form and documents and issue a Residence Certificate in favour of the Applicant.

⏱️ Processing Time

The average processing time to deliver a Residence Certificate in Telangana is a minimum of 6 working days.

Applicant will have to check their Residence Certificate Application Status regularly to avoid any rejection.

📥 Certificate Verification/ Download Process

Applicant can easily verify and download their Residence Certificate issued by the Telangana Government.
Visit the MeeSeva Portal and fill in your Application Number and click on the search icon.The

💰 Application Fee

Rs. 45/- will have to be paid by the applicant at the time of applying for the Residence Certificate of the Telangana Government through the MeeSeva Portal.
The government didn't fix any charges for MeeSeva Centres; however, the charges are nominal.
