A Residence Certificate is a vital document for students, job seekers, and beneficiaries of government schemes. A Domicile Certificate/ Residence Certificate is an official government document that certifies that a person is a permanent resident of the State. Residence Certificate holders can use these documents for admission in educational institutes, applying for Andhra Pradesh Government scholarships and availing the benefit of the schemes. An applicant can apply through the MeeSeva Centre to obtain a Residence Certificate from the Andhra Pradesh Government.
โ Eligibility Criteria
Residence Certificate in Andhra Pradesh will be issued to only those applicants who meet the below-mentioned eligibility requirements :-
- Applicant is a Permanent Resident of Andhra Pradesh. (Usually 7 years or more)
- Applicant's Parent is a Permanent Resident of Andhra Pradesh.
- Woman Applicant married to a Permanent Resident of Andhra Pradesh.

The below mentioned documents will be required at the time of applying for the Residence Certificate of Andhra Pradesh Government :-
- Application Form.
- Passport Size Photograph.
- House Tax/ Telephone Bill/ Electricity Bill.
- EPIC Card/ Ration Card/ Aadhaar Card.

Currently, no Online Application Process for the Residence Certificate in Andhra Pradesh is available. Andhra Pradesh Residents can apply for their Residence Certificate by visiting their nearest MeeSeva Centres. The following is the complete application process.
๐ท Through MeeSeva Centre
- The first step for the applicant is to search for their nearest MeeSeva Centre.
- The Complete District-Wise List of MeeSeva Authorized Centers can be seen on the MeeSeva Portal of the Andhra Pradesh Government.
- Locate your nearest Authorized MeeSeva Centre and visit it with all the required documents.
- Asked the Operator present in the MeeSeva Centre that you want to apply for a Residence Certificate.
- The operator will fill in the Application Form of the Residence Certificate of Andhra Pradesh on behalf of the applicant.
- Required documents will be uploaded in scanned PDF format.
- An acknowledgement receipt will be provided by the MeeSeva Centre Operator after submitting the application form.
- Applicant will have to pay a nominal fee to the operator as this service is not a free of cost.
- Initial verification of the residence certificate application is done by the MRO. (Mandal Revenue Officer)
- If all the documents are found to be correct, the Tehsildar of the respective district will issue the Residence Certificate in the name of the applicant.
- Residence Certificate can be downloaded from the Official MeeSeva Portal.

- The average processing time for a Residence Certificate in Andhra Pradesh is 7 to 15 working days.
๐งพ How to Check Application Status Online
- Application Status of the Andhra Pradesh Government Residence Certificate can be seen online with the help of the Application Number or Transaction Number.
- Open the MeeSeva Portal and you can see a column in the left named "Check Your Application Status".

- Enter your Application Number/ Transaction Number and click on the search icon.
- The current status/ stage of the Residence Certificate of the Applicant will appear on the screen.
๐ฅ Certificate Verification/ Download Process
- The applicant can Download/ Preview the Residence Certificate which is issued by the Andhra Pradesh Government with the help of the application number or transaction number.
- Andhra Pradesh Government's MeeSeva Portal provides the facility through which applicant can download their certificate.
- Visit the MeeSeva Portal and enter your application number/ transaction number in the left column named "Preview MeeSeva Certificate" as shown below in the image.

- A preview of the residence certificate will appear, which can also be downloaded by the applicant.
๐ฐ Application Fee
- MeeSeva Centres charge an application fee from Rs. 10/- to Rs. 50/- for Rthe esidence Certificate of the Andhra Pradesh Government.
